Forums and SEO… they are not so much related as you might think. Most of the forums I know will not give you any real SEO value, but they are great social media tools: get the attention of the forum community and they will follow. Even a paid forum poster will get in touch with you if what you have to offer is really worth.
Just start good threads and engage in good conversations. Forum posting, as blogging, might not always be an ideal short-term SEO choice, but the traffic conversions are remarkable and both forum posting and ghost blogging are worth your money.
The difference between blogging and participating in a forum debate is that forums run faster: People need your answer now, or someone else will get the crème.
Do not give other forum poster too much space. Let them learn where they stand: show them you are the real authority in your filed or, if that’s overreaching, let them see the “real you.”
Show them your value, Encourage them to show their own value. Create a community even when that is reduced to some forum postings. Half of those people will probably follow you anywhere.
Aside of being great branding tools, forums are also free tools. Use them, learn, move on. If you skip any stage of the process you’ll end up being lonely in a bureaucratic office. Use all possible channels to promote, brand and monetize your blog.
