Combining SEO and SEM strategies to promote your business effectively is nothing new and although I am not going to bring anything noteworthy to this topic, I post here a few tips for the regular readers and clients of SEO Ltd. The best ways to promote your business online happen to be free.

We speak about Google and Yahoo, we say LinkedIn and free press release submissions, we talk about the World Yellow Pages with their free listing and creating a lens at Squido. All these are popular tools used by some of the most skilled SEOs and online marketers.

In addition, although V7’s John Scott will disagree, having your articles syndicated by authority sites like Ezinearticles, Idea Marketers, Searchwarp and Go Articles might be benefic for your business by sending targeted traffic to your site. Certainly if we consider the new issues of similarity and duplicate content, there’s not much SEO win from publishing free articles in such directories, but when your articles are good and informative, people will visit your site and probably even link to it if it’s worthy.

Also, don’t forget to take advantage of the Google’s Local Business Center and attract more clients by offering discount coupons on your map listing. Yahoo doesn’t offer its local service for businesses outside US (another reason why Google is a better service provider).

It’s certainly not enough to use these tools to promote your business, but they are free and reliable. You have nothing to lose by using them.
